Nachdem ich diesen Blog lange nicht mit Posts bedient habe, hier gleich drei meiner letzten Werke. Hoffe sie gefallen Euch. Joaquin Sorolla ist einer meiner Lieblingsmaler, seine Bilder strahlen soviel Luftigkeit und Licht aus. Wer Strand und Wasser mag, kann sich ihm nicht verwehren.

The second portrait of famous artists. Already thinking about a third one. I did not pay much attention to detail. It is the overall ipmression which is important to me.

Wanted to do a portrait for a change. He always fascinated me and his eyes are breathtaking. I saw a documentary lately which gave me the idea to give it a try. What do you think?

Seascape Cote Bleu

Finished! The blue-green colors were a challenge as they tend to be to intense. So I had to tone them down with grey. Painting this peace was demanding and rewarding at the same time. And I was really pleased with the result. What do you think?

Workshops

Am 15. November von 12-18 Uhr veranstalte ich wieder einen Workshop für Fortgeschrittene in Neustadtgödens. Kosten 60 Euro. Material ist selbst mitzubringen. In diesem Workshop geht es hauptsächlich um die Darstellung von Wasser, Wellen und Himmel. Gern könnt Ihr andere Motive mitbringen.

Am 16. Oktober von 13-17 Uhr findet ein weiterer Workshop als Schnupperkurs statt. Hier werden erste Einblicke in die Pastellmalerei gewährt. Kosten 40 Euro

Red Poppy

According to Wikipedia, the red-flowered corn poppy is a common weed in Europe. Weed: "A herbaceous plant not valued for use or beauty, growing wild and rank, and regarded as cumbering the ground or hindering the growth of superior vegetation."-The New shorter Oxford English dictionary on historical principles.

Hmm, I see it differently. And it was worth painting it.

About to break

This is the first painting from many impressions and pictures taken at the Cote Bleu, France. I spent my vacation there and did some watercolor studies. The light has really fascinated me. Doing this painting I wanted to capture the transparency of the sea combined with beautiful reflections. There is more to follow.

Ich freue mich, in die Pastel Society of America aufgenommen worden zu sein (juried associate member). Das ist für mich ein großer Schritt, auf den ich sehr stolz bin. Immerhin habe ich monatelang gezögert mich zu bewerben. Toll das es geklappt hat!
