Seascape Cote Bleu

Finished! The blue-green colors were a challenge as they tend to be to intense. So I had to tone them down with grey. Painting this peace was demanding and rewarding at the same time. And I was really pleased with the result. What do you think?

My latest commission. It is very similar to a painting I did a couple of months ago. The client is the owner of the boat with the bright sails and he wanted me to paint his boat in front of Dießen Monastery.

Buoys

Beide Bilder nebeneinander. Ich habe noch eine Idee für ein drittes Bild, die Boje bei bedecktem Himmel und mehr Wind. Mal sehen, wann ich damit beginnen kann.

Die Webseite ist jetzt fertig, ich würde mich über Kommentare und Kritik freuen.

Both paintings next to each other. I got an idea for a third one. Obviously the same buoy but this time on a cloudy windy day.

Hier ist nun das zweite Bild. Das gleiche Motiv in unterschiedlichen Lichtverhältnissen zu malen ist eine gute Methode, um eine Menge über Farben und Tonwerte zu lernen.



The second painting. Painting the same subject in different lighting conditions is a good way to learn about colors and values.

Painting Demonstration

I furnished the center for physiotherapy at the hospital in Wittmund with twenty of my paintings. Yesterday was the opening ceremony  and I used the visitors day to give a little painting demonstration.
And yes, painting is some kind of therapy for me!!!

Seagull at the Beach

This one took me a while to finish but I think it was worth it. In painting such a closeup all patterns need to obey perspective otherwise it is difficult to achieve spatial depth. 


An diesem Bild habe ich recht lange gearbeitet. Alle Strukturen des Bildes müssen bei so einer Nahaufnahme eine Richtung erzeugen, damit die räumliche Tiefe entsteht.

An der Mole II

Eine brechende Welle an einer Mole am Ijsselmeer. An der Mole habe ich schon einmal gemalt, doch bei wenig Wind und etwas Gegenlicht. Und hier meine Palette, ich suche mir am Anfang ein paar Kreiden aus und ergänze dann bei Bedarf. Während des Malens lege ich sie in diese Box, um mich nicht mit Farben zu überladen.
