Having done the charcoal sketch it was much easier to get this painting done. I changed the perspective slightly and tried to capture the afternoon sun.
The painting shows the Lutheran Church of Neustadtgödens. The village was founded in the 15th Century and due to the freedom of religion it became home to many families with different set of beliefs (Lutherans, Catholics, Mennonites, Jews and Protestants).
